His name is Gokhan Mandaci. Works as a senior mobile developer for the global mobile app development and solution provider company Mobinex. Let’s take a look at how he started his career working as a front end developer for another company, how he first met with Smartface App Studio and then how he became a native app developer.
Oytun Sengul (Community Manager, Smartface Inc.):
Were you interested in native app world even before started working for Mobinex as a native app developer?
Gokhan Mandaci (Senior Mobile Developer, Mobinex):
I was working as a front-end developer for my previous company, however making applications was always in my mind. I started working for Mobinex thanks to my JavaScript knowledge. At my first interview, they didn’t even ask anything else except my JavaScript experience. At first, I was shocked with their behavior since they are a company with very high profile customers. However, I understood why when I first met Smartface App Studio. I started working in this company just to be a small part of the native app developer world, but exceeding my humble expectations, they assigned me to work in large scale application development projects. That was my dream back then and now I dream to make even a larger impact in the Mobile Application world as a native app developer.
Cross-Platform app development is really a good starting point without any limits.
OS: Was it really that easy? Mobile world has dynamics of its own. How did you manage to adapt yourself to those ever-changing dynamics?
GM: That is actually one of the best qualities of Smartface App Studio. Most of the things come pre-packed for you, so complicated and ever-changing structure of mobile world doesn’t actually affect you. For instance, new version of iOS8 just came out, you know. We loaded our current projects on the new release of Smartface App Studio and that’s it. Simple! Most of our native apps just work like that. We just had to do some cosmetic changes and even that’s not usually necessary even though device fragmentation is getting worse every day, like iOS Fragmentation.
OS: So at this stage, what is your advice for those who are interested in (wanna be) native app developer?
GM: It is a well-known fact that mobile application world is growing really fast and will continue to do so. Especially for those that started their careers as front-end developers or similar professions like me, cross-platform app development is really a good starting point without any limits. They can learn the mobile landscape while making quite an entrance to native applications world. The availability of ingenious tools such as Smartface App Studio is a wonderful thing. You may not only become a native app developer, you’d be also android app developer and iphone app developer.
OS: Any final words about Smartface App Studio?
GM: iOS Emulator on Windows PC! Emulating and debugging any iOS device by connecting it to Windows PC is truly amazing!
